Woman gobsmacked by man's random act of kindness at Aldi in Co Cork

A woman was left gobsmacked after a man's random act of kindness in an Aldi store on Thursday afternoon.

Maeve Joyce was shopping at Aldi in Ballyphehane, Co Cork, but sadly realised she didn't have enough cash on her to pay for everything.

She dropped a few bits back and headed out to the car but a very kind man ran out after her with the groceries she left behind having paid for them himself, Cork Beo reports.

Maeve wasn't able to get the man's name as he nipped off very quickly but she has taken to Twitter to try and track him down so she can say thank you.

She tweeted: "At around 2pm in Aldi in Ballyphehane I didn't have enough cash on me and had to leave some groceries.

"The guy behind me in the queue follows with out with them you stuff that he had paid for. I need to find this guy Cork. I never got his name."

She added: "Thanks for all the RT's, comments etc. I will pay it forward but I also want to thank this guy with such a kind gesture."

Aldi also tweeted Maeve saying: "This is so lovely to hear Maeve! Some really good people in the world. Hopefully the wonder of social media will help you track him down. Good luck."

  • Does anyone know who this man is? Make sure to get in touch and let him know his help was greatly appreciated.
