Woman blasted for ditching date after he didn't order extra cheese on his burger

A woman has been slammed for ditching her date because he didn't want to spend an extra £2.50 to have cheese on his burger. Dafna Diamant, from New York, America, shared how she met up with a man she'd been speaking to on a dating app - but ended up walking out of the restaurant because she didn't agree with his attitude towards spending.

She explained how she ordered a branzino dish, a mild white fish popular in Italian cuisine, while he chose a burger - and when asked by the server whether he wanted extra cheese adding to his burger, he politely declined after asking how much it would cost. Taking to TikTok, she said: "I just got back from a Hinge date - why am I doing this to myself? We scheduled to go to dinner, we are sitting at the restaurant, he seems very nice, not a catfish, things are going well.

"The waitress comes over, she wants to take our order. I said I'm going to take the branzino, he's going to take the burger. The waitress asks him 'How do you like your burger?' and he says how he likes it.

"[She asks] 'Do you want some cheese on your burger?' and he asked 'Is this going to be extra?'. She says 'It'll be $3 (£2.50) extra', and he said 'Ok, never mind'."

After the waitress left their table, Dafna says he started complaining about having to pay "extra for everything these days", to which she reminded him they live in New York so it should be expected.

Deciding she'd seen enough, she ate her meal and made an excuse to leave the table, saying she needed to nip to the bathroom to freshen up.

"Once I was satisfied, I got up and was like 'I'm going to the restroom for a second', and I took my purse and I went to the waitress and just paid the bill and walked out of the restaurant.

"I texted him [saying] 'The cheque is taken care of, you should have got the cheese', and I blocked him."

However, Dafna didn't receive the response she was expecting, as most TikTok users agreed $3 is too much to pay for one slice of cheese.

One user said: "Is this why I'm single? Because I'm not paying $3 for cheese either."

Another user added: "Justice for Cheese Man."

A third user said: "My boy was just trying to make conversation..."

One more user added; The problem is people are too quick to judge someone off one comment. You didn't even give him a chance based on a piece of cheese."
