A woman who was bitten by a dog has died in hospital, police have said.
She's been identified as Sharon Jennings, 55.
Police said Mrs Jennings was walking her dog along an old railway line when they encountered another dog.
Both dogs started to fight and she was bitten on the hand and neck as she tried to separate them, Lancashire Police said.
The incident happened on Friday, May 31.
The force said Mrs Jennings was found unwell at her home and taken to hospital in Preston on Monday, June 3.
She died in hospital on Friday night, a force spokesman said.
No further details have been revealed by Lancashire Police.
The breed of dog involved also hasn't been confirmed.
The tragedy was revealed in a statement issued by the force on Saturday.
Detective Inspector Chris Wellard, of Preston Police, said: "Our thoughts are with Sharon’s family and friends at this incredibly distressing time.

"We’re working hard to establish what happened but need anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible."
Mrs Jennings, who is from Preston, was walking on the old railway lines in the Brookfield area between 6pm and 7.30pm on May 31.
The dog has been described by police as speckled ginger and black, of medium height.
A man who was with the dog was also described as having thinning grey or black hair. He was wearing a blue, fleece-type jacket.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
The force said enquiries to trace the dog and its owner were continuing.
