Woman believed to be in 50s dies after fall from flat in Southville

Police are investigating how a woman fell to her death from a flat in Southville.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the block, thought to be Littlecross House, in Phipps Street at just gone 2am yesterday. (January 11)

They found that a woman had fallen from a flat and police attempted first aid.

Ambulance crews attended but the woman died at the scene.

The woman has not yet been formally identified but is believed to be a 50-year-old who was visiting the block.

Three women aged 53, 43 and 36 were arrested in the early hours of Saturday.

They remain in police custody while officers continue their inquiries to establish the circumstances leading up to the death.

Investigations, including house-to-house enquiries and forensic examinations, continue.
