Woman being treated for coronavirus symptoms 'spat at and threw contents of sick bowl over nurse'

A woman allegedly spat at and threw the contents of a sick bowl over a nurse while being treated for Covid-19 symptoms.

Lesley Pike, 56, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker.

The alleged incident happened on Saturday, West Midlands Police said.

Police have not confirmed where it took place.

Pike, from Kates Hill in Dudley, has been bailed to appear before Dudley Magistrates' Court on May 21.

News of the charge comes amid a spate of other incidents involving people deliberately spitting or coughing at others, including NHS staff, during the coronavirus pandemic.
