Woman beaten by husband because she couldn't have sex discovers she has 2cm vagina

A newlywed was beaten by her husband after he became enraged by her short vagina.

The woman first discovered the issue while trying for a baby with her husband after their arranged marriage in Pakistan.

She was left in severe pain following the attempts at penetrative sex, which were unsuccesful.

According to BMJ Case Reports the woman was beaten and verbally abused by her enraged husband, who told her to go back to her parents and receive treatment.

Despite never having a period and experiencing pain in her lower stomach for three years before the issues emerged, the arranged marriage went ahead with her mother suggesting it was merely temporary menstrual delay.

When she eventually went for treatment doctors found her vagina was just 2cm long.

The discovery came as a shock given that the woman was typically developed for a 20-year-old with genitals that appeared normal from the outside.

The issues was that the woman had transverse vaginal septum, which meant the top and bottom of her vagina was divided.

In a bid to correct the issue surgeons cut a piece of tissue from her vagina and placed a mould covered with a condom inside her for a week to allow it to stretch out.

This was swapped for a 8cm by 4cm silicon mould which remained inside her for three weeks.

The operation proved a success, with the woman able to have sex and, seven months later, conceive.

After she event she said: "This surgery has given me a new life in true sense. I had to suffer a lot of verbal, physical and emotional abuse from my own family and my in-laws.

"People told my family that I was not a female but a transgender that I can never be sexually active nor could I ever conceive.

"My self-esteem was lost and I could not face anyone out of this guilt.

"This treatment blessed me with happy marital relations, self-confidence and a healthy baby."
