Woman banned from Walmart for drinking wine out of Pringles can becomes internet icon

Woman banned from Texas Walmart deemed relatable (Stock) ( )

A woman banned from Walmart for drinking wine out of a Pringles can while riding an electric shopping cart has been hailed a “relatable” modern icon.

The incident occurred Friday at a Walmart in Wichita Falls, Texas – when police received a call to check on a suspicious person in the superstore parking lot shortly after 9am.

Police were told to look for a woman wearing a blue jacket and black pants, who had been reportedly riding an electric shopping cart – meant for people with disabilities – for hours.

Officers were also told the woman in question had been drinking wine from a Pringles can as she drove around the parking lot since 6am.

When police arrived, they found the woman in a nearby restaurant – at which point they informed her she was banned from the Walmart location, according to USA Today.

However, despite the unidentified woman’s misdoings, people are finding her extremely relatable.

The woman’s actions and subsequent ban led Esquire to name her “a relatable nonpartisan icon” for her ability to “at once delight and offend members of almost all political affiliations” after she received country-wide attention.

And on Twitter, people have identified with the woman, and expressed their inability to see what she did wrong.

“I fail to see the problem,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Not gonna lie, that sounds like fun.”

“Who among us HASN’T been caught drinking wine from a Pringles can while riding an electric shopping cart in a parking lot?” someone else tweeted.

Others have suggested that Pringles create a new product from the woman’s invention.

“So… Pringles has a wine?” one person asked, while another said: “I think they’ve just stumbled on their next product opportunity.”
