Woman baffles with strange welcome gift basket for guests - including raw sweet potato

When you invite guests over to stay with you, you'll probably put some fresh sheets on for them, plump your pillows to make the bed look comfy, and you may even choose to make them a welcome basket full of the things you know that they'll love.

This is a really nice way to be welcomed into someone's home, and you may enjoy rifling through the snacks they've left for you - but Melissa Metrano, who posts on TikTok as @melissametrano, has caused quite a stir after the array of "snacks" she left for her guest - one of them being a whole sweet potato.

In the video, Melissa can be seen making the bed up for her "special guest", making sure that the sheets are "crisp" while she added a "beautiful display" of pillows.

She then showed the welcome basket she made up for the person who was staying, popping some "white fluffy towels" in there, along with snacks and a bottle of water. She also made sure to put flowers in the room too, and a note with the Wi-Fi password on.

But eagle-eyed TikTokers were left baffled when they noticed the choice of snacks Melissa had popped into the basket, as it included a full sweet potato, green beans, and a tin of pumpkin.

Someone wrote: "'Then I'm adding snacks', *puts whole raw sweet potato*."

"...is the guest a dog?", another joked.

"I've got snacks! The snacks: a whole potato and uncooked green beans", a TikToker questioned.

One person said: "FLEW to the comments to see people roasting the snacks'."

"Love that the can of pumpkin has a pull tab incase they forgot to pack their own can opener! Love the attention to details", another sarcastically wrote.
