Woman baffled to see dog's face staring back at her in espresso martini on night out

A woman was left gobsmacked when she found the face of an adorable dog staring up at her from the foam in her espresso martini during a night out.

Kate Conlon ordered herself the alcoholic beverage - typically made with freshly brewed coffee, coffee liqueur, and vodka - at a local bar as a late-night treat, and after polishing off the drink, she noticed that the foam left in the bottom of the glass was the spitting image of a dog's face.

She then whipped out her phone to take a picture of the foamy animal, which even had some residual coffee beans acting as a nose and eyes.

The mum, from Massachusetts, US, wrote on social media alongside the picture of her discovery: "Look what I found at the end of my Espresso Martini."

And people were equally as baffled by her findings, as they couldn't believe how striking the resemblance was.

One person said: "Aw poor pup. Please don't swallow him."

While another added: "I'd say you were just seeing things after your Martini but I see it as well."

As a third also saw the pooch's face, and asked: "Why is it so cute?"

Meanwhile, Kate isn't the first person to find something strange lurking in their food, as another woman was left "really spooked" after seemingly spotting the face of the late Princess Diana in a slice of ham.

Hattie Osma, from Cheltenham Spa, bought the packet of ham from Tesco to make sandwiches for lunch at work. After opening the packet and eating the top slice, the 36-year-old noticed what looked like a silhouette of Diana's face staring back at her.

Hattie says everyone who has seen the slice of ham has been "really spooked by it", with one colleague at work even offering to buy it from her for £30.

Hattie turned the offer down and insists she intends to preserve the piece of meat, perhaps even putting it on display in her house.

"I loved Princess Diana growing up, she was the people’s princess. She was 'hamazing'," she said, "I peeled the top slice off and ate it before making my ham sandwich and noticed Diana looking up at me. I'm really glad I didn’t eat it."
