Cat unmasked as mystery thief leaving 100 pairs of shoes outside woman's home

When shoes started turning up outside BJ Ross’s home, she never suspected she had her very own cat burglar.

The mental health therapist, 45, could not work out why two shoes were left on the pavement in January, and threw them away.

However, when rogue footwear kept appearing – including a high-heeled leather boot – BJ suspected one of her seven cats.

As Jordan, six, is the only one who roams around at night, BJ decided to attach a GPS tracker on him and set a CCTV camera up outside to check on him in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

It repeatedly caught the feline felon as he returned home, often nabbing two or three shoes in the same night.

BJ said Jordan has stolen at least 100 shoes, so to return them to their rightful owners, she set up a Facebook group and a website.

She said: “It’s funny but embarrassing. We have returned several pairs since we set up the page.

“Fortunately, the neighbours who have come for them have found it funny.”
