Woman attacked on quiet canal path near Neath Abbey

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in Neath.

The woman was assaulted on Tennant Canal, near Neath Abbey Monastery on Easter Monday, April 13 at around 6.30pm.

The woman fought off the male attacker and sustained "minor injuries".

He is a described as a tall white man, aged in his late 30s to early 40s with a local accent.

At the time of the attack he wore a grey t-shirt, baseball cap and blue jeans.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "We are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted on Tennant Canal, near Neath Abbey Monastery at around 6.30pm on Monday, April 13(Easter Monday).

"The woman fought off her attacker and received minor injuries.


"He is a described as a tall white man, aged in his late 30s to early 40s and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a grey t-shirt, baseball cap and blue jeans.

"Anyone with information should contact 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting occurrence 2000126118."
