Woman attacked and robbed outside shop in retail park

A woman was attacked and robbed in Tameside.

Police were called just after 9am on Thursday following the incident in Ashton-under-Lyne.

It's thought the woman was robbed outside one of the shops at Ashton Moss retail park.

Officers were called to the incident off Lord Sheldon Way.

GMP have confirmed they are investigating and have asked for anyone with information to come forward.

In a statement released to the M.E.N., police said: "At around 9.05am on Thursday 5 November 2020, police were called to reports that a woman had been assaulted and robbed off Lord Sheldon Way, Ashton Under Lyne.

"An investigation is underway.

"Anyone with information should contact police quoting 676 of 05/11/20 or the independent charity - Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
