Woman assessed by trauma technician after two-car crash

A woman was assessed by a trauma technician after a crash between two cars in Oldham.

Emergency services were called to the collision on Middleton Road in Royton at around 5.15pm today (Monday).

The crash involved two vehicles, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said.

A woman was assessed by a fire service trauma technician at the scene.

Fire crews made the area safe before handing over to the ambulance service and police.

It has not yet been confirmed whether anyone was seriously injured in the incident.

An eyewitness told the M.E.N   that the incident happened near the junction with Lea View on Middleton Road.

They said the road had been cordoned off police.

In a statement, a GMFRS spokesperson said: “Two fire engines from Oldham and Chadderton fire stations, as well as the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on Middleton Road, Royton, at around 5.15pm this evening.

“One woman was assessed by a GMFRS trauma technician at the scene, and crews made the area safe before handing over to colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service.

“Firefighters were in attendance for around 25 minutes.”
