Detectives investigating the assault of a woman in broad daylight in Glasgow’s city centre have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection.
The incident happened around 8.40am on Wednesday, March 20, as the female victim was walking along Buchanan Street. She was assaulted by a man who then ran off towards Royal Exchange Square and out of sight.
Police officers have released two images of a man who was seen in the area at the time, and who they believe may be able to assist their investigation.
Detective Constable Alan Macdougall from Greater Glasgow’s Public Protection Unit said: “This was a very disturbing incident for the woman and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the individual involved.
“As part of our enquiries it is important that we speak to the man pictured in the images who may have information of significance.
“I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man, or indeed the man himself, to please contact Greater Glasgow’s Public Protection Unit via 101, quoting incident number 0629 of Wednesday 20 March 2019.”
