Northumbria Police are appealing for witnesses following a frightening assault in Northumberland.

On July 30, officers received a report of a woman being attacked by two men in, Seaton Delaval.

The victim was walking on a country path between Seghill and Mares Close, near a place known to locals as Rabbit Hill when she was approached by the suspects.

The pair reportedly searched the 23-year-old woman's pockets for valuables, inflicting minor injuries in the process.

Both suspect fled the scene. One of them is described as wearing tracksuit trousers and a hoodie.

It is believed the incident happened around 7.50pm on Thursday and detectives are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Detectives are keen to trace this man as he may be able to help police with their enquiries.

The man, or anyone who saw anything suspicion in the area, is asked to get in touch with police quoting reference number 1056 30/07/20.
