Woman asks hairdresser for 'bangs' but leaves 'looking like Frodo Baggins'

A woman has spoken of her shock after asking for 'bangs' to be cut into her hair - and leaving looking like Frodo Baggins.

Annie McElevin is thankfully chuffed with her new doo and hopes to catch the attention of the actor himself, Elijah Wood. While the 25-year-old loves the film character, she initially did not anticipate looking like the hobbit when she asked her hairdresser for the new style.

Annie, an environmental science student, who lives in Queenstown, New Zealand, said: "I just thought it would be fun to have bangs and ended up looking like Frodo Baggins. I didn't ask to look like him, but I'm not upset about it. I'm a huge Lord Of The Rings fan so when I noticed I was like 'hell yeah!'"

After posting a video about it on TikTok under the username @aannniee6, Annie amassed near 8 million views - and thousands of comments from amused TikTok users. Some joked Annie and Frodo could be "twins" and now Annie is hoping her new 'do might catch Elijah Wood's eye, the Mirror reports.

She said: "When I say I'm the biggest Lord Of The Rings fan, I mean I can spend hours a day watching videos on YouTube. It's what I talk about at parties. I hope maybe Elijah sees I look just like him. I would love to meet him - maybe he'd want to meet me."

Unsurprisingly, Annie isn't the first person to be left in stitches after getting her haircut - and she won't be the last. However, the Frodo "twin" might be one of the strongest contenders among those who end up as celebrity lookalikes. Elsewhere, a 12-year-old boy was left looking remarkably similar to the The Simpsons' Mr Burns after his mother gave him a hilarious haircut.

Earlier this year, a teenager from Stalybridge, Greater Manchester also ended up with an unusual trim after giving himself a haircut that made him resemble Jim Carrey 's Dum and Dumber character. So be careful what you wish for next time you get a haircut.
