A woman has been arrested following the death of an eight-year-old boy in Tootgarook on the Mornington Peninsula, south-east of Melbourne.
Police discovered the boy's body at an Alma Street address shortly after 1:30pm.
The 41-year-old woman was arrested at the scene.
It's believed the woman and the child were known to each other.
Police said they are yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, however it is being treated as suspicious at this stage.
They are not looking for anyone else.
