Woman arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive after Range Rover crashed into gate at Manchester Arena

Police arrested a woman after a Range Rover crashed into a gate at the Manchester Arena.

GMP said a 25-year-old woman was held on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

The black Range Rover Evoque appeared to have crashed into a gate at a side entrance to the city centre venue.

Police were called at about 3.30am today.

A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 3:30am this morning (7 August), police were called to reports of a collision on New Bridge Street, Manchester.

"Enquiries established a black Range Rover Evoque had collided with a gate.

"A 25-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

"She remains in custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
