A 39-year-old woman is being probed by detectives after a shooting - the second in the same area within 24 hours.
Police rushed to Reeds Road in Huyton on Sunday evening following reports of shots being fired at about 7.10pm and found damage consistent with a shooting.
This afternoon, it was confirmed that a woman, 39, from Huyton, had been arrested on suspicion of possession of a Section 1 firearm.

She has been taken into custody for questioning by detectives.
A large section of Brookwood Road remained sealed off today a street adjacent to Reeds Road.
Officers were seen combing areas of the pavement and grassed areas for bullet casings, evidence of gun discharges, or any other items of interest.
Police have confirmed there were children inside the Reeds Road address where the bullet struck.
It has been suggested the gunman wasn't aiming for the address where the damage occurred.
Residents said they heard up to five bangs on Sunday evening.
Seventeen hours before the Reeds Road shooting, another shooting took place on Woolfall Crescent at around 2.30am, a six minute drive from Reeds Road.
Presently, police are saying they are not linking the two incidents.
Due to the alarm caused by two shootings in quick succession, police have introduced a Section 60 order, giving officers enhanced stop and search powers to stop males aged 16-50 in the area to minimise serious violence.
Detective Inspector John Fitzgerald, of Merseyside Police, said: “We are in the very early stages of an investigation after shots were fired at a house in Huyton last night.
“Firing a weapon in the street is extremely reckless and thankfully no one was injured, although residents were left understandably shocked.
“Officers are in the area to carry out enquiries and speak to witnesses, and we are keen to hear from anyone with information. If you saw or heard any suspicious behaviour in the area, or have any CCTV or dashcam footage, please let us know. Any information could prove vital to the investigation and assist us in finding who is responsible so we can bring them to justice.”
