A woman was released from custody after police questioned her in the fatal stabbing of a man Friday in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

Antwon Brown, 26, was stabbed in the chest at 9:13 a.m. in the first block of North Hamlin Boulevard, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said it was domestic in nature, but did not provide additional details.

Brown was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. An autopsy conducted Sunday said he died of multiple sharp force injuries, and his death was ruled a homicide.

The woman, 24, was taken into custody but was released later without charging, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.
