The Gouribidanur police on Saturday arrested a 29-year-old woman who allegedly got her first boyfriend killed through her second boyfriend and made it look like accidental death in November last year.
The police, who had taken up a case of accidental death, said the postmortem report revealed the actual cause of death. The police zeroed in on M. Pavithra and her boyfriend Rishab Mittal and his company driver Shambhulinga, charging them for murder.
According to the police, Pavithra who was married and had two children, was working as a sales executive in a steel company in Gouribidanur. She had an affair with her colleague P. Prasanna Kumar. She later got into a relationship with Rishab Mittal, who was her senior and worked as quality manager at the company.
Prasanna learnt that Pavithra was cheating on him and used to have frequent fights with her. Enraged by this, she sought the help of Rishab to get rid of Prasanna, the police said.
As per the plan, Rishab called Prasanna on the pretext of talking about work and strangulated him to death at the company godown. The accused later directed Shambhulinga to carry the body in a goods vehicle and dump it on the road to make it look like an accidental death, the police said.
