Woman arrested following drug raid on Kilmarnock property

A woman has been arrested for alleged drug dealing following community concerns in Kilmarnock.

Police raided a property on Boyd Street in the town yesterday, June 17 at 11.30pm after gaining a search warrant from a sheriff.

Class B and C drugs were recovered along with a four-figure sum of cash.

The officers from the Ayrshire Division Proactive Crime Team seized the drugs and cash and a 20-year-old woman was subsequently arrested.

A report has now been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Locality Policing Inspector for the area, Jason Peter, said: "we will continue to respond to community concerns regarding drug dealing in the area and are committed to working with local residents and our partners in doing so.

"Proceeds of crime legislation enables us to disrupt those who profit from crime - drug dealers don’t care about people or the areas in which they operate. Only by working together will we reduce their ability to profit from other's misery.

"I would encourage anyone who has concerns about crime in their area to contact their local policing team."

Police Scotland can be contacted by calling the national non-emergency number 101 (in an emergency always dial 999). Information can also be passed via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
