Woman arrested during €1.2m fraud investigation into Dublin Credit Union branch

A woman has been arrested following a fraud investigation into a Credit Union branch in Dublin.

An Garda Síochána released a statement on the investigation which said: "Gardaí investigating the misappropriation of funds to the value of €1.2 million at a North Dublin Credit Union have arrested a woman on suspicion of offences contrary to the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001."

The woman, aged in her 60s, was arrested on Thursday, December 10.

She is currently detained at Balbriggan Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

This arrest represents a significant development in a long-standing investigation into fraudulent activity in the financial institution.

Investigations are ongoing.
