Woman arrested and charged after cops recover £200k of cannabis from Dumbarton house

A 45-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after cannabis plants with a street value of £203,400 were recovered from a Dumbarton house.

At around 8.20pm yesterday (Wednesday, May 6), Police Scotland officers from Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Serious and Organised Crime Team searched the property in Cardross Road.

The woman is expected to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday (May 11). A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Chief Inspector Ogilvie Ross, Dumbarton Police Station, said: "This is the second recent major recovery in the division. Last week, two men, aged 31 and 29 years, were arrested following the recovery of 500 cannabis plants with an estimated value of £300,000 were recovered from an industrial unit in Glasgow Road, Clydebank.

"Our officers will continue to target anyone involved the sale and supply of controlled drugs even during the current Covid-19 restrictions."
