Woman arrested after several cars damaged in Shawlands

A woman has been arrested after several cars were vandalised in Shawlands.

It's understood eight separate cars were damaged on Deanston Drive, in the south side of Glasgow, and police confirmed a 56-year-old woman has been arrested and charged.

Police were initially called to the street yesterday (Sunday) over reports of concern for the 56-year-old woman. She was later taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "On Sunday August 11, police were initially called to a report of concern for a 56-year-old woman on Deanston Drive in the Shawlands area of Glasgow.

"Officers attended and the woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for assessment.

"The 56-year-old woman was arrested and charged for a number of vandalisms and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
