Woman arrested after police called to Scots canal following concern for a person

A woman has been arrested after police were called to Scots canal due to a concern for a person.

A significant police presence was reported at the canal near Maryhill Road in Glasgow at about 5.35pm.

Police were called after a member of the public was concerned for a person in the area.

Cops attended the incident and helped to make sure the woman was safe.

However, the female was then arrested in connection with another matter.

Police confirmed that they had attended the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.35pm on Friday, 27 August, officers were called to a concern for person incident at the canal near Maryhill Road.

"Officers attended and assisted.

"The woman was then arrested in connection with another matter."
