A woman was arrested after she reportedly crashed into an armed police car while drunk.
Officers were called to the junction of Bewley Drive and Valley Road, in Kirkby , shortly before 3pm on Thursday to reports of a collision.
Merseyside Police confirmed that a white Audi was involved in a collision with a police vehicle but witnesses to the incident said that the police vehicle involved was a black BMW X5 that is used by armed police officers.
Pictures taken at the scene showed a cordon placed at the junction after another police van turned up at the scene.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police : "Officers were called to the area after an RTC involving a white Audi and a police vehicle.
"We arrested a 33 year-old woman on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink ."
