Woman arrested after car flips over in M56 Christmas Day crash

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after her car flipped over in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to the M56 after a car was found on its side.

Fire crews as well as police and paramedics attended the scene on the exit slip road at junction 10 of the motorway, for Northwich and Warrington.

According to the M.E.N, the woman had to be rescued from the car by firefighters.

It's not believed any other vehicles were involved.

She was checked over by paramedics and is said to have suffered a broken collar bone.

However she has also been arrested on supsicion of driving under the influence after officers said she gave a breath test reading of 75 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35.

North West Motorway Police said: "Not a good start to her Christmas on way to custody.

"To say she was lucky not receive more serious injuries  #luckyunlucky ".
