Woman and teenager hospitalised following alleged assault in Tallaght

A woman and a teenager were rushed to hospital followed an alleged assault in the Tallaght area on Sunday night.

Gardai are investigating the incident which happened close to the Tymon Bawn Community Centre in the Aylesbury area of Tallaght at 9.30pm on Sunday, 19 February. A woman aged in her 20s and a male teenager sustained injuries in the alleged assault, with gardai called to the scene.

They were both brought to Tallaght University Hospital to be treated for their injuries, which have been described by gardai as non-life threatening. The area near the community centre was cordoned off by gardai on Monday as a technical examination took place.

A garda spokesman confirmed to Dublin Live that they are investigating the incident. He said: "Gardaí are investigating an assault incident that occurred at approximately 9:30pm on Sunday 19th February 2023 in the Aylesbury area of Tallaght, Dublin 24.

"A woman in her early 20s and a male youth in his late teens sustained injuries during the course of this assault and were taken to Tallaght University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No arrests have been made at this stage of this ongoing investigation," added the spokesman.
