Woman and dog pulled from mud after getting stuck at Wirral beauty spot

A woman and her dog were rescued after becoming stuck in the mud at Marine Lake in Hoylake.

The emergency services were called out to the lake at around 7.15pm last night, following reports of an incident.

Police, fire, and two coastguard teams from Wirral and Crosby were sent to the scene.

A spokesman for the coastguard told the ECHO that a woman and her dog were both rescued from the mud at Marine Lake.

The woman was said to have been submerged up to her ankles in the mud.

The woman was checked by paramedics at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.

The dog was also rescued from the mud and did not suffer any injuries.

The emergency services left the scene at around 9.15pm last night.
