Woman and child rushed to hospital after two car crash on Scots road

A woman and child were taken to hospital following a crash on a Scots road this afternoon.

Emergency services raced to the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road at the B9017 junction near Keith after the two-vehicle crash happened at around 3.50pm on Saturday, August 28.

Ambulance crews attended and a youngster and lady were taken by ambulance to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.

Thankfully their injuries were described as "minor".

Officers closed the road for several hours following the smash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Press and Journal : “We received a report of a two-car crash on the A96 at the B9017 junction near Keith at 3.50pm.

“A child and a woman sustained minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Dr Gray’s Hospital as a precaution.

“Officers are still at the scene and the road remains closed.”
