Woman allegedly murdered by father remembered as 'loving and caring'

Mother Romina Lekaj, brother Pyrrhus Lekaj and grandmother Rozeta Deltina release balloons at Sabrina Lekaj's funeral.

A young Adelaide woman allegedly murdered by her father has been remembered as a "studious daughter" and a "loving and caring" sister.

Sabrina Lekaj, 20, was allegedly killed by her father Petrit Lekaj, 49, last month.

Her body was found in a car near their home in Kidman Park, in Adelaide's west, alongside her injured father.

Her funeral was held today in Flinders Park.

"She was very sweet," her brother, Pyrrhus Lekaj, told hundreds of mourners at the service.

"She had this passion for her studies.

"She greatly influenced me in everything that I do.

"She was very loving and caring in everything that she did and I will not forget her."

Petrit Lekaj appeared in court via a video link from hospital on July 26 charged with his daughter's murder.

He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance in January, but his lawyer did not rule out making a bail application before then.

Mother's memories of daughter

Her mother, Romina Lekaj, told the funeral it had been a privilege to have Sabrina as her daughter.

"I want to remember her first day at childcare, her first day at school," she said.

"[She] smiled and said to me, 'Mum, don't come and pick me up until three'.

"I want to remember the first day she went to piano lessons and said to the teacher, 'Can I come tomorrow? Can I come the day after tomorrow? I could be here every day'.

"I want to remember her graduation — how excited she was for graduating piano.

"I want to remember her formal — how many hours we spent together getting her ready.

"I want to remember all the good days and all the good memories.

"I hope that we all remember good memories and good times we had with Sabrina.

"Today is a chance to say goodbye to her, but it will never be goodbye — until we meet again my darling daughter, I'll always carry you in my heart."

Sabrina had been studying to be a radiologist at the University of South Australia.

She previously attended Nazareth College.
