Woman airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by vehicle

A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in mid Wales.

The incident happened near the village of Leighton in Powys on New Year’s Eve.

It involved one vehicle, which was in collision with the woman on the B4388 road at around 3.25pm.

The pedestrian, aged 60, suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted from the scene to Stoke Hospital.

Police are now appealing for information about the collision, and are asking anyone with information to get in touch.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Newtown Roads Policing Unit either online, by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk, or by calling 101."
