Woman airlifted to hospital and in serious condition after crash on N20 in Co Cork

A woman remains in a serious condition in Cork University Hospital this morning after a crash on the N20 Cork/Mallow road on Sunday afternoon.

The Cork-based Community Air Ambulance scrambled to the scene after the collision near the turn-off for Dromahane around 1km south of Mallow.

The alarm was raised by passing motorists shortly before 4pm and emergency services, including units of the County Fire Brigade from Kanturk and Mallow, rushed to the scene, CorkBeo reports.

One woman motorist was assessed with serious injuries at the scene and transferred by air-ambulance to CUH.

The road remained closed for most of the evening but has reopened this morning. Traffic diversions were in place near the Mourneabbey turn-off.
