Woman airlifted to hospital after being trapped under tractor in Aberdeenshire

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after she became trapped under a tractor in Aberdeenshire.

The 42-year-old farm worker was ferried to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by coastguard helicopter last night, March 30.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were all called to the scene in a field near Glen Dye, at the foot of Clachnaben near Banchory at 9.48pm.

She is said to be in a stable condition but suffered serious injuries in the incident.

A police spokesman said: "Around 9.50pm on Monday, 30 March, police were called to a field near Glen Dye, Banchory where a 42 year-old farm worker had become trapped under the tractor she was using.

"Emergency services attended and the woman was taken by Coastguard helicopter to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is being treated for her injuries.

"Hospital staff describe her condition as stable.

"The Health and Safety Executive were made aware."
