A woman was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a cyclist on a busy road.
Merseyside Police scrambled to Washington Parade in Bootle at around 5.57pm on Thursday, June 16, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found a woman, believed to be in her 40s, had been hit by a bicycle.
The North West Ambulance Service and the North West Air Ambulance were also called to the scene.

An air ambulance landed in North Park and rushed the woman to Aintree Hospital. The condition of the woman involved in the incident is not yet known.
The cyclist is believed to have stopped at the scene. Officers have put a cordon in place on Washington Parade as continue to investigate the incident.
Police patrol cars and matrix units are at the scene and are helping divert drivers away from the closed road.
