Woman advertises 10litres of petrol on Facebook for £50

A woman has placed an advert on a Facebook group selling 10litres of petrol for £50.

The post values the fuel at almost four times what it would have cost to buy as the UK faces a petrol and diesel crisis.

Fuel forecourts across the country have run out after panic buying sparked by big suppliers saying a shortage of HGV drivers was making it difficult for them to keep petrol stations supplied.

The advert was posted in the Marple, Romiley and Bredbury Community Facebook page on Monday, reports MEN.

It read: “10L e10 petrol. Collection from Romiley. £50 Ono. Cans not included but can fill up on collection.”

The post included a photo of two green petrol cans. It is believed the post has now been deleted.

Reactions were mainly 'shocked' and 'angry' with people asking if the post was a joke, says MEN.
