Woman admits to sleeping in jeans and sparks debate as some say it's 'criminal'

When it comes to getting ready for bed there's a seemingly endless list of potential sleepwear options, from full pyjama sets to underwear and even those who sleep without any clothes at all.

But one woman on TikTok has claimed she wears something less conventional to bed, as she admitted she often falls asleep wearing one of the most uncomfortable items of clothing around - a pair of jeans.

While many of us might baulk at the idea of sleeping in the stiff denim that we often have to squeeze our tummies into, Julia Crist has suggested she finds the fabric so comfy she could happily go to bed without feeling the sweet relief that comes with taking them off.

In a video that showed Julia mimicking two sides of a conversation, she first said: "There's so much you don't know about me."

And posing as the second person, the woman - who posts under the username @juliakcrist - pretended to ask: "Like what are you, an axe murderer?"

To which Julia answered as herself: "Worse. I like to sleep in jeans."

The woman, who also runs a YouTube channel, has sparked debate with her bizarre sleepwear confession, as many people couldn't believe Julia would find sleeping in jeans comfortable.

One person wrote: "Oh hell no, I can't look at you the same way."

Some commenters said sleeping in jeans should be 'criminal' (@juliakcrist/TikTok)
But others couldn't see the problem with the idea (@juliakcrist/TikTok)

While another simply stated: "Criminal."

And a third joked: "That’s like sociopathic tendencies, that is NOT OKAY."

But others were less horrified by the idea, with some even agreeing with Julia and insisting that sleeping in jeans is more comfortable than you might think.

Someone said: "It's just ... so comfy."

As another added: "Sleeping in jeans really isn't that bad, to be honest."

"To be fair, after a day at university I can easily nap in my jeans afterwards", someone else noted.

While sleeping in jeans isn't exactly conventional, there's nothing wrong with wearing your favourite denim to bed. According to Smart Sleeping Tips, sleeping in jeans shouldn't impact your sleep as long as they're comfortable and not too restrictive.

However, the site claims jeans could make you too hot at night which may irritate your skin and make you sweat.

If you're prone to tossing and turning while asleep, you might also want to avoid taking a nap in your Levi's, as the friction caused by constant movement may wear them out quicker.
