A woman has admitted murdering a 31-year-old man who was stabbed in the chest earlier this year.
Emma Berry, 46, had previously pleaded not guilty to killing Dean Michael Bennett but dramatically changed her plea just before a trial was due to begin.
Berry asked for the charge to be put to her again at Mold Crown Court in Flintshire, North Wales, on Monday where she confessed to the murder.
Judge Rhys Rowlands told her that he would sentence her on Tuesday, NorthWalesLive reports.
A family statement released following Mr Bennett’s death described him as the “best daddy ever”.
It read: “Dean’s daughter has paid tribute saying that he was the 'best daddy ever' and she’s going to miss him always.”
It added: "We will always miss him, and he will never be forgotten.”
An inquest opening held in June gave a provisional cause of death as shock and haemorrhaging as a result of a stab wound to the chest penetrating his heart.
Mr Bennett died near his address on Old Quay House on Dock Road, Connah’s Quay, on May 22. He was airlifted to hospital in Liverpool but was pronounced dead.
Berry had previously pleaded not guilty to killing the victim at a previous hearing in August that she attended virtually from HMP Styal in Manchester.
She was told by Judge Rowlands there could only be one sentence as murder carries a mandatory life sentence.
