Woman admits assaults on four police officers

A Bitton woman has been handed a suspended jail term after admitting assaults on four emergency workers.

Rebecca Anne Williams, 43, of Aubrey Meads, was dealt with several offences when she appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court on October 16.

She pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath at Ashmead Road Police Centre on June 28 when suspected of having driven a vehicle.

Williams also pleaded guilty to assaulting emergency workers PC Serjent, PC Speller, PC King and PC Holland at Bath Road, Longwell Green, on June 28.

She further admitted possessing 1.1g of controlled class B drug cannabis at Bath Road, Longwell Green, on June 28.

Magistrates handed her an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

They said the reason was because the offences involved a serious incident involving assaults on four police officers, including one offence involving a headbutt.

Williams was also told to comply with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement in which she must attend appointments and participate in any activity required up to a maximum of 15 days.

She was ordered to pay £350 compensation and cannabis recovered was destroyed.
