A woman has revealed that her sister accused her of "upstaging" her on her big day because she lost weight.
Sharing her story anonymously, the 28-year-old woman explained that she used to be "quite overweight", but after a lot of hard work, she successfully lost almost 100 pounds.
However, because she doesn't live near her family, and she doesn't post on social media, her family hadn't yet seen the dramatic transformation - all they knew was that she was starting to make healthier choices.
Her 26-year-old sister got engaged last year and is due to tie the knot, which means this is the first time they'd be seeing her.
"It's happening a week from now and because I haven't seen everyone in so long I decided to come down two weeks earlier to help out and catch up," she said in her post on Reddit.
But she didn't quite get the reaction she expected.

She wrote: "My sister freaked out upon seeing me. As it turns out she has gained a bit of weight not super noticeable to me she still looks great.
"But I think this is the first time in our lives that I’m smaller than her, I’ve always been the 'fat sister'.
"She basically accused me of trying to upstage her and my parents are fully taking her side. I’m really not sure if I’m in the wrong here as so many of my family are taking her side of things."
She concluded her post by asking whether she was in the wrong for losing weight before her wedding, but everyone took her side.
The top comment, with almost 47,000 upvotes, says: "Wow OP [original poster], you spent whole year of your life losing weight and make sacrifices just to upstage your sister ?! How dedicated and petty of you! How delusional is your family?"
Another person said: "Instead of being happy that her sister is making healthy changes, she made it about herself. Totally self-centered!"
A third wrote: "The sister sounds so self absorbed, like she enjoyed being the 'skinny sister' as if it was some kind of competition or had any contribution to her worth as a person. She seriously accused OP of only losing weight to spite/upstage her.
"That kind of logic is ridiculous to me, especially with all the super hard work OP had to put into losing the weight."
