A woman accused of biting and stabbing her partner has walked free after he said he couldn't remember the alleged attack.
Linda Patrick, 50, was charged with assaulting Francis Scullion to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement at her home in Kylemore Crescent, Motherwell.
It was alleged she punched him repeatedly on the head and body and bit him on the head during a prolonged attack on May 16 last year.
She then allegedly struck Mr Scullion on the body with a knife and poured cleaning fluid on him.
Patrick, who was represented by solicitor Gerry Devaney, claimed she acted in self-defence.
She went on trial at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Friday.
Mr Scullion was the first witness to be called.
He said he was in the house with Patrick and five other individuals that day.
He was drinking and taking drugs before blacking out. He couldn't remember how he came about his injuries.
After Mr Scullion's evidence, the prosecution decided to call no further witnesses and Patrick was formally found not guilty.
