April 16--A woman went to Bradwell Elementary School on the South Side with her son, his girlfriend and a stun gun and attacked school workers while her daughter tried to fight another student, according to police.
A security guard suffered minor injuries and charges were filed against a 36-year-old woman, a 14-year-old girl who was to fight another girl, a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, police said.
The incident happened about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 7700 block of South Burnham Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
The 14-year-old and another girl started to fight, and several adults tried to break it up, including a security guard at the school, police said.
The woman, her son and his girlfriend punched, kicked and used the stun gun when school personnel blocked them from getting into the school, police said.
Police described the fight between the woman's daughter and another eighth grade girl as "an ongoing physical altercation."
Michelle McClain, 36, of the 7800 block of South Coles, was charged with two counts of battery making physical contact and one count of battery causing bodily harm.
The 14-year-old girl was charged with felony aggravated battery to a school employee. A 17-year-old girl was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery to a school employee and the 17-year-old boy was charged with five felony counts of aggravated battery to a school employee.
