Woman, 94, dies two days after three-car crash in Burgess, Co Cork

A 94-year-old woman died two days after a crash that involved three cars.

The victim was seriously injured in a three-way collision on the N25 from Youghal to Killeagh in Burgess, Co Cork on Friday afternoon, July 31.

At around 4.30pm, the three cars collided at the junction of a filling station on the stretch of road.

Three people - two women and one man - were taken from the scene of the collision to Cork University Hospital.

One woman, 94, was airlifted from the scene in a serious condition. She passed away on Sunday, August 2 from her injuries.

The man and woman, aged 46 and 27 respectively, were both discharged from hospital.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the N25 at Burgess between 4pm and 4.30pm on Friday or anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the collision, particularly any road users with dash cam footage, to contact Midleton Garda Station on 021 4621550, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
