Woman, 90, found at Weston-super-Mare house with 'significant injuries' dies in hospital

A woman in her 90s has died after being found with ‘significant injuries’ at her home in Weston-super-Mare.

Police were called to a property at Rockingham Grove near Ashcombe Park on Friday evening (January 1) after reports of a ‘sudden death.’

The woman was taken to Weston General Hospital but died the following day.

Police are currently treating the death as ‘unexplained’ and an investigation has been launched.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "A woman, in her 90s, was admitted to Weston General Hospital on the evening of Friday, January 1 after being found with significant injuries at a residential address near Ashcombe Park in Weston-super-Mare.

“She died the following day and her family have been informed.
