Woman, 81, dies after being pulled from the sea at beauty spot

An Wirral woman who was pulled from the sea at a Welsh beauty spot has died.

Beverley Addyman, from Wallasey, was found in the water at Cemaes Bay, off the coast of Anglesey, on Tuesday.

Police, paramedics and the coastguard were all called to the scene at around 2.45pm when the 81-year-old was found in difficulty.

Witnesses also told North Wales Live that the coastguard Rescue 936 helicopter was sent to the scene and landed on the beach close to where Ms Addyman was being helped.

A short time later, despite the efforts of the emergency services, she died after being rushed to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor.

Her family have been informed of her death and are being supported by specially trained professionals.

Her death is not believed to have been suspicious and a file has been passed to the coroner.

A post mortem examination will also be carried out.
