A 78-year-old woman died Friday after she was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in west suburban Oak Brook.

About 6:50 a.m., a white Nissan was headed east on 35th Street approaching Tartan Lakes Drive when the driver, a 48-year-old Lombard man, tried to pass a BWM in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with a silver Toyota and then collide with the driver’s side of the BMW, Oak Brook police said the BMW driver reported.

The driver of the BMW, a 53-year-old man from Glen Ellyn, declined treatment at the scene.

No charges or citations have been announced.

The Oak Brook police’s Major Crash Reconstruction Team and the Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigation Team (MERIT) was investigating.
