Woman, 77, dies days after three-car crash in Cwmbran

A woman has died after a three-car crash, police have confirmed.

The 77-year-old woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles and died five days after the incident, Gwent Police said.

The incident, on Greenforge Way, Cwmbran, took place at about 12.40pm on Tuesday, October 5, and involved a white Peugeot Partner van, a black Vauxhall Astra and a blue Ford Focus.

The 77-year-old woman was a passenger in the Ford Focus. Its driver was also taken to hospital following the crash but has since been released.

Gwent Police is now appealing for any potential witnesses of the incident to come forward.

They added that the family of the woman is being supported by specially trained officers.

A statement from Gwent Police said: "We’re appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in Cwmbran.

"It happened on Tuesday, October 5, at about 12.40pm on Greenforge Way. Three vehicles were involved, a white Peugeot Partner van, a black Vauxhall Astra and a blue Ford Focus.

"The passenger of the Focus, a 77-year-old woman, died on Sunday 10 October."

It added: "If you were in the area at the time, witnessed the collision or have dash cam footage please call us on 101, quoting 2100349776, or you can DM us."
