Woman, 76, dies in hospital after collision involving a car in Pontyclun

A woman has died in hospital after a collision with a car in Pontyclun .

The 76-year-old woman, who was a pedestrian, was seriously injured in the incident on Saturday and was taken to hospital where she has since died.

Police were called to Cowbridge Road at around 2.40pm where the woman had been injured in a collision with a grey Mitsubishi ASX at the junction of Station Approach.

The Welsh Air Ambulance was called and landed on the pitch at Pontyclun Rugby Club.

The woman, from Llantrisant, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where police said she has now died.

South Wales Police want to speak to any witnesses who may have seen the incident or anyone with dash cam footage of the Mitsubishi beforehand.
