Woman, 75, and her dog both die in house fire in Cardiff

A 75-year-old woman and her dog died in a house fire in Cardiff .

The emergency services were called to a fire at a house on Aberporth Road in Llandaff North shortly before 3pm on Wednesday.

South Wales Police confirmed the woman and one dog died at the scene. Another dog was rescued and taken to a local vet.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but it is under investigation. Nobody else was at the property at the time of the incident.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "The cause of the fire remains under investigation, however, it is not believed to be suspicious".

South Wales Fire Service said it was unable to comment.
